Kansas City's largest Labor Day adventure is due to be held from the first to the fourth of September. Be a part of the Midwest's largest arts and crafts show. You might just bump into some character from the 1800's cooking up some treats. The Main Stage has artists entertaining you with popular country music, both recent and old. You'll also get to witness talent of the local youth. After all the excitement and entertainment, head towards the Historic Square, to cater to your gastronomic needs. Admission is free.
Ilove Santa-cali-gon.Fact is my Grandfather John Ellie Weir lived at the ripe ol'age of 98, he used take me as a young child & tell stories of how he used to drive a wagan with hourses on these three trails as a boy & merchent,he is dead now & but the fall & the fair always brings back all the stories he told ,he was my best friend all the days he was alive & i miss him,He used to remind me of Fred Sanford on tv, his house filled with antiqes & a story with eveything He sold,I have lots of family in Indep,along with school mates, teachers & although i have married & moved miles away,I know that this is & envirnment i may take my grandbabbys & feel safe,have a wonderful time
I live in Independence, and have been going to Santa Cali Gon for years. From it being a few craft tents to the 8 or so it is now, besides all the vendors that line the streets. Food, music and a carnival makes sure there is something for most everyone to do. Everyone is in a holiday mood, and it is a lot of fun.
