I have lived at the Metro Lodge for over 2 years. Usually I have experienced good service and enjoy the staff here. Since they fixed the problems with the dryers I have had few complaints until yesterday. Apparantly there are new owners and one of them pulled a birds nest that was on a high ledge across from the office door and threw it next to the building. I guess he thought stray cats in the area would eat the birds. I also guess that he assumed the bird wouldbeauisance. She nested there last year and had not bothered a single person. The new owner had told Doug that there were no eggs in the nest, but failed to tell him that there were babies. I don't understand why he didn't wait until the babies left the nest( they had feathers so it wouldn't have been long) before taking the nest down. I had to tell the little girl next to me that the babies were moved to a safe place. I just think if someone is so cold to do this, how will they treat the people that call this home? Is it going to become a cracktel like it used to be or are families and family values going to continue. It does not sem like it's going to be family friendly seeing this cruel action and I for one am looking for somjewhere else to lay my head.
After doing a little searching, the last three reviews were written by individuals that left this business owing money, running from the police, or some combination of the two. There are NEW laundry facilities on the premise that work wonderfully.
The rooms are nasty, old, smelly. and washers and dryers do not work, they charge you 100.00 dollar deposit and you only get 75.00 back 25.00 dollar cleaning fee. I stayed there a week got in on thursday went up to the desk the following wenesday to get a clean towel he said he could not give me a clean towel until thursday the day that my room get clean i told him i would be leaving on thurday that i just needed to get a clean towel he said no. so i got change and said i would wash the towels and be done with it i washed the towels put them in the dryer came back 45 min later dryer still going towels still soaking wet ask the front desk to refund my $1.50 he said no so i got in my truck went 3 miles down the road dried the towels at a laundry and got a shower 3 hours later afer working for eleven hours in the sun. the police where there almost every night at one room or another. the location was perfect for me was the only reason i stayed there. the mattresses are nasty. the house keeper was the only bright spot.
Stayed there for about a month and the laundry facilities were pathetic. None of the dryers worked and when I complained that they didn't even have Out of Order signs on them, it fell on deaf ears. They never fixed them and I mistakenly poured more money into them. Too many abandoned cars in the parking spaces.
My report differs greatly from the few I read here. When they came to clean, the first week they did all the things mentioned in your other letters. Sweep, vacuum, dust, clean mirrors, toilets and bathroom. They even changed the sheets. After the first week the only thing they did was to lay a clean garbage bag across the top of the filled garbage can. They charge for the ice, they complained about giving change for the laundry machines even though no change machine was provided in the laundromat. The dryers with the exception of one, would not heat up and they refused to return the money spent on the non working dryers. All in all our experience with them was not a good one. There is a manager at the Metro named "Doug" who spoke harshly to our 8 year old son because he wanted his money back from the soda machine that didn't give him his soda. He grudgingly opened the machine to give my son his drink. But, the topper to all of this is that they called my boyfriend and myself liars because they wanted to charge for us (my son and myself) living there. We truly didn't live there. My son attends school where we live and it is impossible to say that we lived with my boyfriend at the Metro. However, they insisted they had seen me enough to constitute living there. And they charged him for it.We repeatedly told them that we were only there on weekends and occasionally on a wednesday night but they argued and charged him anyway.I feel we were not treated properly and we should receive a refund for the weeks they charged him for us being there as residents. And as I stated their housekeeping leaves quite a bit to be desired. Upon cleaning the room to check out we even killed a roach. The curtains have holes in them and are too short for the window. The bedcovers are not washed between renters and this is very apparent. Overall, we are very disappointed and feel like we have been robbed. This motel is the closest to my son and me and it was convenient for him to stay at for his job. The management has made it impossible for him to stay there at the amount of money they wanted for the back rent (for us non-renters) plus his current. He had to move. I am writing this letter because I would like to let people know the Metro is NOT as is being portrayed here. Above all the management is the problem aside from the housekeeping!
Was driving through Georgia when my car broke down. Needed an inexpensive place to hang my hat while my car was getting repaired. Metro was perfect. Friendly staff, clean rooms and lots of amenities. Hopefully I return to Georgia and stay awhile, Metro Lodge is a great place for an extended stay-Thank YOU!!
it is a very quiet and friendly place to stay as long as you like. The place is all one level so you have no stairs to worry about. It was easy to find places to go out and eat, shopping is very close, and you can keep your pet with you as long as it is under 25 lbs. The people who work here make you feel at home.
i like the way you are treated at the metro they are very friendly people and its a very nice environment to be living in. They have everything that you need right on site, they have the drink machines there, the ice machine, they also sell the essentials that you need inside there office. The room service that you get there is once a week, but when they clean your room, they sweep and mop, they vaccum your room, they clean your sink, tub, toliet, and your mirror, but they even change your bed sheets and pillow cases. They are very great in the way they run there business. it was a pleasure to stay at the Metro Lodge.
